Leaders from the main agricultural organizations in Europe and North America gathered in Lake Como (Italy) to hold the 41st edition of the North America–EU Agricultural Conference, a well-established forum that brings together producers and agricultural cooperatives from both sides of the Atlantic to exchange experiences, strengthen cooperation, and discuss common challenges facing the sector.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Copa-Cogeca (EU farmers and agri-food cooperatives), the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF), the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA), and the National Agricultural Council of Mexico (CNA). The conference was organized by the main Italian agricultural entities: Confagricoltura, CIA Agricoltori Italiani, Coldiretti, and the Alliance of Italian Agricultural Cooperatives.

Discussions focused on the challenges of food production and security, highlighting the need to ensure stable and reliable supply chains in an increasingly uncertain global environment. Sustainability issues were also addressed, emphasizing the dual goal of reducing agriculture's environmental footprint and improving farmers' ability to adapt to extreme weather events, while increasing efficiency and productivity.

Innovation and competitiveness were other key topics, with discussions on how new technologies and commercial opportunities can sustain profitable farms and dynamic rural communities. The importance of rules-based trade, with transparent and science-based standards, and the free exchange of goods and knowledge between partners was also reaffirmed.

The meeting highlighted the resilience of the agricultural sector and the need for policies that support generational succession and strengthen family farms. Participants agreed on the value of transatlantic cooperation and reiterated their commitment to ongoing dialogue and collaboration between agricultural organizations in Europe and North America.

The next edition, the 42nd North America–EU Agricultural Conference, will be held in Mexico in 2027.
