APPLICATION AND PRACTICE OF MULTISTORY PIG FARMING

We are honored to introduce one of the featured keynote speakers of the IPVS 2026 Congress: 𝑫𝒓. 𝑱𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒀𝒂𝒏, 𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒋𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒆́𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝑳𝑳𝑪, 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒂

Dr. Jason Yan brings over 30 years of experience in swine production, health management, and agribusiness. With academic training in both China and the United States, he has played a significant role in advancing China’s pig industry and previously served as Chief Scientist at a leading agribusiness. He currently consults for major production companies while managing his own farrow-to-finish operations.

At the IPVS 2026 Congress, Dr. Yan will deliver a keynote lecture on the following topic: “Application and Practice of Multistory Pig Farming: Pig Flow and Health Management”

As land availability becomes an increasing challenge, multistory pig farming is emerging as a promising solution. This approach offers advantages in land-use efficiency, centralized management, and enhanced biosecurity.

However, important questions remain, particularly in disease management, pig flow optimization, and overall cost–benefit performance. With limited real-world experience available, many producers and veterinarians are still exploring how to successfully implement and operate these systems.
