The importance of selecting a good rodenticide

BASF tips for rodent control.

1. Use the most palatable bait:

  • So that rodents will accept it as a food source. The faster the rodent accepts the bait as a food source, the faster it will begin to ingest it and the faster control will be achieved.
  • High percentage of natural food ingredients. A neophobic reaction to the bait is possible. The easier it is for the rodent to identify the bait as a food source, the more unlikely this is to occur. Therefore, baits with a high percentage of natural food ingredients are ideal products.

2. Select a fast and effective rodenticide bait

  • Selection of active ingredient
    • Attention to possible resistance
    • Different baiting systems
  • Type of formulation
    • Bait that can be fixed at the baiting point
    • Resistant to high and low temperatures

In many cases, it will also be necessary to fix the bait, and then either a soft block bait or a waxed block bait should be used.

Selontra® offers a combination of extremely high palatability and faster control. With its active ingredient, cholecalciferol, it breaks the cycle of resistance to anticoagulant rodenticides. Selontra® optimizes the use of resources offering a balance between performance and environmental impact.
