At the 2025 Nucléus seminar, partners, and Cooperl Nucléus teams expressed a shared goal: to develop and promote innovative, high-performance French genetics that meet the expectations of pig producers.
A real challenge for the teams, who can rely on proven genetics that continue to improve every year:

- Within the female lines:
- an increase of 0.2 more piglets weaned per year,
- a 5% increase in the number of piglets weighing over 1kg at birth.
- Within the male lines:
- revised Pietrain selection objectives to accelerate feed efficiency (Feed Conversion Ratio, FCR).
Collaborative discussions to move forward together
Alongside the presentations, Stéphane Fouéré, President of Nucléus, and Yann Henry, Director of Cooperl’s Pig Farmers’ Group, engaged in discussions with breeders about the future and opportunities of Nucléus Cooperl genetics.
"The direction is clear: exports are becoming a strategic pillar. Every boar or sow distributed abroad generates data, revenue, and technical feedback that fuels the selection program in France. A virtuous circle that benefits all farms, from breeding to production."
Today, Nucléus represents :
- a direct presence in 6 countries (excluding France),
- own breeding farms in 3 countries,
- exports to more than 20 countries in 2024,
- a 9.5% increase of global export,
- high-impact R&D projects enabling continuous improvement in performance, quality, and ease of farm management.
Today, Nucléus clearly affirms its intent to strengthen its international presence through the development of new offerings and partnerships with global players in the industry.
