From 16th – 18th April 2018, Tonisity International hosted its first Distributor Meeting in Bergamo, Italy.

During this three-day conference, the Tonisity team welcomed over 50 attendees from around the globe with guests flying in from both neighbouring countries within Europe as well as more distant countries such as Peru, Mexico, Korea and Taiwan, to name a few.

The schedule for this distributor meeting started on Monday 16th April at 6.30pm with a welcome aperitif allowing all participating customers to meet and greet other distributors and generally acted as a brilliant ice-breaker for all attendees. The dinner on the first night remained on-site with a four-course meal exhibiting what the Bergamo region truly offers including gastronomical delicacies like parma ham, cheese and pork for all pig enthusiasts. A surprise guest ‘Andrew Lee’ from Malaysia, provided light entertainment in the arena of magic and the power of distraction.

On Tuesday 17th April, the conference opened with a welcome and introductory presentation led by Mathieu Cortyl (Managing Director of Tonisity Europe) and Arie Halpern (CEO of Tonisity International). This was followed with an introduction by each distributor to the conference floor. The morning continued with a summary technical update on Tonisity led by Ava Firth (R&D Director) which showcased information on the product Tonisity Px along with their future goals on developing the brand from a research perspective. This was followed by two workshop sessions looking at various sales techniques to amplify the use and benefits of Tonisity Px amongst their customer base. These conclusions and arguments were then shared with the rest of the floor to create conversation and discussion amongst the entire group and provided excellent feedback to the Tonisity team. The morning sessions ended with two very interesting presentations from external speakers who are particularly active in the global pig farming industry. This included Hans Aarestrup who is currently holding the position of CEO at the Association of Danish Pig Producers – he presented an exciting update on swine production worldwide with an emphasis on sustainability. This was followed by a second presentation led by Dr. Giampietro Sandri, the Head Veterinarian at Gruppo Veronesi in Italy, who spoke about the pig industry in Italy along with its challenges on a more regional scale.

On Tuesday afternoon, all attendees were picked up by two corporate buses for an organized excursion to Bergamo. This afternoon activity presented everyone with a chance to see some of the local attractions that Bergamo has to offer including a walking tour across the old town with some gelato ice-cream and local beer on hand! For the evening festivities, the Tonisity team organized all attendees to dine in a local Italian restaurant with all food prepared onsite giving the distributors the opportunity to taste local flavours and delicacies.

On the last day, all attendees were invited to participate in a series of closing presentations including a full recap on the marketing activities planned for 2018, a final technical update on Tonisity provided by the research and development team and a complete breakdown on the economic benefits of Tonisity Px presented by Mathieu Cortyl. Mathieu also introduced to the distributors the first concept of the new Tonisity Px ROI calculator proving that by implementing some simple figures and farm information, the return on investment that Tonisity can provide to its customer base is more apparent than ever. This event wrapped up with a final workshop exploring the strategies Tonisity’s distributors will implement in the coming year to truly promote Tonisity Px in their individual markets.

In summary, this three-day event was a brilliant opportunity for the Tonisity team to firstly meet with their wider distributor network across Europe and Asia but it also gave them the chance to hear feedback on how they can best implement new marketing and sales tactics for the next year. The feedback from all attendees was very positive overall with many stating that they would love to return for a follow-up next year!
