logoThe Canadian Meat Council (CMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Larkin as its next Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive national search. Kyle will officially assume the role on January 19, 2026.

Kyle brings more than a decade of leadership experience in public affairs, government relations, and association management. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of Grain Growers of Canada, where he led major policy initiatives, strengthened government engagement, and delivered outcomes that directly benefited producers across the country. His track record of advancing national agriculture priorities makes him well-positioned to champion the interests of CMC members.

This transition comes at a critical time for CMC and the broader meat industry. With growing regulatory, labour, trade, and competitiveness pressures, Kyle’s proven strategic leadership is an asset. His substantial experience in navigating complex policy environments and advocating on behalf of members will guide CMC into a new chapter—one focused on impact, responsiveness, and delivering exceptional member value.

“Kyle’s experience leading a national organization and securing meaningful policy results will be invaluable to CMC members,” said Russ Mallard, Chair of the CMC Board of Directors. “He brings the strategic understanding, relationship-building skills, and member-focused approach needed to position our industry for long-term success.”

CMC looks forward to welcoming Kyle as CEO and to continuing to build a strong and competitive future for Canada’s meat industry.
