The reasons behind a Great Success

A claim consolidated in time
After the 50 editions that have accompanied and stimulated the modernisation of Italian pig breeding, the Pig Breeding Exhibition today represents one of the main events in the European livestock industry, combining a selected display of service boars with an impressive exhibition of the industry on an international scale, preserving its original and characteristic specialisation on a single topic.

Reactions in line with the times
A market that is traditionally unstable demands adequate professional preparation and constant updating: the exhibition can offer both by means of its conferences, where leading experts in Europe take part, in addition to its various exhibits:

  • in genetics, supported by the competitions for service boars and the exhibition of "hybrids";
  • in animal feed practice, aimed at optimising yield in the various breeding stages;
  • in pharmaceuticals, where effectiveness must not jeopardize consumer protection;
  • in technological innovation, which is particularly prominent in the hall reserved for plant engineering and breeding equipment.

In the heart of italian pig breeding
Its advantageous geographical position also contributes to the success of the exhibition: not only is Reggio Emilia easy to reach from abroad, as it is located in the plain of the Po River, between Milan and Bologna, it is also easily accessible for the areas in Italy where farming and the activities linked to this, play an important role in economic terms. 88.2% of Italian production is, in fact, concentrated in the central-northern area of the country.
