The 2nd Annual Passion for Pigs Seminar & Trade Show will be held March 16-17 at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center in Columbia, MO.

The March 16 program includes a number of company presentations. Stephen Patterson, DVM, Northeast Veterinary Service, Shelbina, MO, will present “Strep and Clostridium, Old Bugs, New Treatment.”

The Commercial Ag Team from the University of Missouri will discuss “The Evolution of Pork Production in Missouri, 1945-2009.”

Kicking off the program March 17 is Dennis DiPietre of Knowledge Ventures, LLC, Columbia, MO, with “Precision Agriculture in Pork Production.”

University of Missouri agricultural economist Ray Massey presents “Developing Greenhouse Gas Markets – What Are Carbon Credits?”

Ron Ketchum of Swine Management Services, Columbus, NE, addresses “Benchmarking – Where Do You Fit In?”

Scott Dee, DVM, University of Minnesota provides “Hot Off the Press! PRRS and Mycoplasma Control Update.”

The Commercial Ag Team also presents “Current Status of CAFO Regulations and Managing Manure.”

Missouri State Veterinarian Taylor Woods discusses “Update on Feral Swine.”

Lee Fuchs, vice president, Capital Markets, Farm Credit Service Financial, St. Louis, MO, speaks on “The New Credit Environment of the U.S. Pork Industry – The Impact of Scarce Capital.”
