Precision livestock farming is an innovative production system approach, which is based on the integrated uses of advances in animal sciences and in new technologies of information and communication.  Its main objective is optimize animal production and the management of productive processes.  Today this offers many opportunities, such as the increased feed efficiency that can be obtained by reducing uncertainty in decisions relating to the control of variability within pigs.
