3rd European Symposium of Porcine Health Management

As the chair of the local organizing committee, it is pure pleasure for me to be able to invite all of you to participate in the 3rd European Symposium of Porcine Health Management, May 25 – 27, 2011 in Espoo.

For the third time the symposium will offer all colleagues working in the field of porcine health management from all over Europe an excellent chance for as well updating of professional knowledge as exchange of experiences and ideas. Together we will set up the standard of future porcine health related issues, should it concern welfare, emerging diseases, epidemiology, management of pig production, reproduction or herd health economics.

In addition to a high level but applied scientific programme, the 3rd symposium in Helsinki will offer you an appealing chance to get familiar with the nature of this beautiful Nordic country and its friendly people. As an exception to all formal congress gala dinners you may have attended in the past, in this symposium you will experience a refreshing dinner in the middle of Finnish forest, sensing the upcoming summer as green as it gets. In this gala dinner you’d better not wear ties or suits, the birds and foxes would not appreciate them.

The first two conferences in this series in Copenhagen and Hannover have shown the way how to do it. Our intention is to listen to you and make it, if possible, even better this time. It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Espoo in May 2011.
