The headline grabber for 2009/10 is the doubling of pig gross margins - £40 per head compared with £20 in 2008/09.

These are the best results in the last ten years.

The figures are drawn from the Farm Business Survey, for which more detailed results will be published early next year. The analysis provided relates to the performance achieved in gross margin terms only and therefore exclude overhead costs.
