Spain – Nearly 3 million Iberian pigs commercialized in 2009

In 2009, 2,948,219 Iberian pigs were commercialized in Spain, of which 65% corresponded to Iberian finisher pigs, 20% to Iberian bellota pigs, and 9% to Iberian pure bellota pigs.

In 2009, 2,948,219 Iberian pigs were commercialized in Spain, of which 65% corresponded to Iberian finisher pigs, 20% to Iberian bellota pigs, and 9% to Iberian pure bellota pigs.

With regard to products derived from Iberian pigs, in 2009, 5.16 million hams, 5.09 million “paletillas”, 4.39 million loins and 33,828 tonnes of fresh meat were commercialized according to the latest figures released by MARM.
