According to FranceAgriMer, the volume of France's pork exports will fall by 9.3% in 2022 to 656,000 tonnes carcass weight equivalent (cwe), to which 156,000 tonnes cwe of offal can be added.
On the other hand, imports will increase in 2022, especially for charcutiers. They are estimated at 655,000 tonnes cwe (+7.9%), to which can be added 77,000 t of offal.
Overall, the trade balance remains positive (79.000 t in 2022 compared to 197.000 t in 2021). The self-sufficiency rate decreased from 106.2% (2021) to 100.5% (2022).
