France – The French government asks Banks to answer for the financial dificulties of livestock farmers

In February, the French Minister of Agriculture, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister of the Economy, Christine Lagarde, held a meeting with the principal players in the French banking industry with the objective of getting them to answer for the financial difficulties that the French livestock farming industry has been experiencing for several months.

In February, the French Minister of Agriculture, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister of the Economy, Christine Lagarde, held a meeting with the principal players in the French banking industry with the objective of getting them to answer for the financial difficulties that the French livestock farming industry has been experiencing for several months.

At the request of Lagarde and Le Maire, the Banks have committed to look for solutions on a case-by-case basis in order to help farmers that are having difficulties repaying their loans. Based on the analysis carried out, the creditors will examine the conditions of the personal loans, such as duration and deferments.
