France – Agreement among professional organizations about the care of farm animals

On June 22 representatives from different animal producers associations, as well as veterinarians, presented a text project to revise the Rural Code approved last week by parliament members under the Law for the modernization of agriculture and fishing.

The agreement reflects a willingness to preserve the inherent prerogatives of the level of veterinary attention given to the animals by farmers and technicians. On top of this consensus, the creation of a list of care instructions for each species that can be carried out by non-veterinary staff is foreseen.
