The eighth annual event, set for June 27th at Iowa State University, has a packed program, with speakers and U.S. pork producers focusing on important issues and information sharing on today’s top topics – including African swine fever and sustainable intensification. More than 15 presentations are planned for the event, which last year attracted almost 500 attendees.

Dr Robison will give a short talk covering his experience of the agriculture industry and his vision for the College, followed by a Q&A session during the barbeque to close the day. The barbeque, sponsored by AB Vista, TechMix and Lynch Livestock, will feature mouthwatering smoked meat, donated by Lynch Livestock.

Dr Pete Wilcock, North America Commercial and Technical Manager at AB Vista, shares the importance of Iowa Swine Day, especially this year ahead of the canceled World Pork Expo:

“With ongoing changes in swine production, from a greater focus on precision nutrition to understanding the risks of non-endemic animal diseases, Iowa Swine Day is more vital now than ever. The occasion provides the perfect setting to educate, inform and share ideas on how to proceed in today’s market.”

Early registration is now available through June 13th. To register and receive more information, visit http://www.aep.iastate.edu/iowaswineday/index.html.
