Dr. Yuzo Koketsu received a BVSc (Hons) degree in 1975 from Obihiro University and an MVSc in 1977 from Osaka Prefecture University, both in Japan. After working in the Japanese feed industry for 12 years, he went to the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota, U.S.A. He received a PhD in 1994, studied for 2 year as postdoc and then spent 4 years as a faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota. His expertise includes farm data analysis, and in 2000 he was awarded the Horizon Award of PigCHAMP, U.S.A. for his farm data analysis and benchmarking for the U.S. swine industry. Since 2000, he has been a Professor in School of Agriculture at Meiji University, Japan. He teaches animal reproduction and swine production at Meiji University, and lectures swine medicine in two veterinary schools.
He has published 140+ papers in refereed journals, 260+ abstracts at scientific meetings and 110+ extension papers, and has also educated 73 BS, 14 MS and 6 PhDs in the USA and Japan.
