Russia has completely banned the importation of beef, pork, fruits and vegetables, poultry, fish, cheese, milk and dairy products from the UE, US, Canada, Australia and Norway, that are countries that have imposed economic sanctions on Russia.

The prohibition came into force on 7 August, although the Russian government could reconsider this deadline in case that the countries affected by the embargo rethought the sanctions.

We must remember that Russia had already closed its borders to pork and several derivatives from all the EU countries last February due to the ASF cases in some Eastern Europe countries. It had also imposed restrictions on the importations of live pigs from US last May.
