According to the ABIPECS, Russia has increased its monthly pork importations from Brazil. In September they represented 39.60% of Brazil’s exports.

This growth in the shippings reflects Moscow’s strategy for replacing the importations from US and Europe for products from other countries, and especially from Brazil.

In September, Russia bought 17,065 tonnes of pork, and this represented an income of USD87.87 million, an increase by 76.75% in terms of volume and by 172.87% in terms of value. From January to September, Brazil exported 129,499 tonnes to the Russian market and invoiced USD562.49 million, a variation by 23.81% and 80.82%, respectively in comparison with the same period in 2013.
