His academic background has developed between the Veterinary School of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Avian Sciences Department of the University of California (Davis) and more recently the Wharton University of Pennsylvania. His professional career has mostly been linked to the feed industry around technical service and R+D in feed and feed additives including research collaborations with many leading feed/premix corporations, universities and research institutions worldwide. He is author of more than 100 publications related to animal nutrition. His current research interests focus in the understanding of the physiology of feed intake related to the peripheral oronasal sensing mechanisms (smell and taste) and the development and application of new feed additives with emphasis in non-ruminant species.
